Navel – many women assume that because their belly will expand that a navel piercing
will need to be removed. Not so – you can usually wear the original jewelry until l the
3rd to 4th month. As your belly grows, you will want to see a reputable piercer who can
insert a flexible piece of monofilament into the piercing that is discreet and
comfortable during your pregnancy. Navel piercings are notoriously difficult piercings,
sometimes taking up to 2 years to heal. You do not need to give up something that you
had been so patient with! Like all piercings, it is also not something that is easily "re-
pierced" after the birth due to the development of scar tissue in the original piercing.
Scar tissue is very painful to pierce and is more prone to bleeding. If you choose to
remove your jewelry with the intention of re-piercing, be sure and consult a
professional so the scar tissue is avoided.




Cutting Edge Studio cares about your health and safety.  Appropriate
precautions are taken here to prevent exposure to disease-causing
microorganisms during all procedures!

We adhere to established Universal Precautions, including the
wearing of disposable latex gloves for all client contact.  Instruments
are sterilized in individual packets prior to use in a Steam Autoclave
which is inspected by the Arkansas Department of Health.

Our needles, of course, are Single Use ONLY!

Our Marking Instruments used in the Piercing procedure (even on
unbroken or non-mucous membrane skin) are Single Use.

Jewelry is individually packaged and sterilized in our Steam Autoclave
or E.O. Gas prior to use....and because the jewelry packets are handled
in the retail area, once the contents of the jewelry packet is opened
onto the sterile field, our gloves are changed.

We work from a sterile field, and use only products from single-use
disposable packets.  Supplies are handled only with freshly gloved
hands, and all surfaces are wiped down at the beginning of each day
with Madacide (liquid hospital disinfectant cleaner) and Sani-cloths
(germicidal-impregnated wipes) between each client.

Policy for Piercing Minors
You must provide State issued I.D. to prove you are at least 18 years of
age.  If you are a Minor you MUST bring your State issued I.D. AND your
Parent or Legal Guardian (and their Court Order documents proving
their guardianship) with their State issued I.D.  Photo copies will be
made of the I.D.s
Cutting Edge Studio will NOT pierce minors below the neck, except for
the navel, even with parental consent
